January 2010

The beginning of a new year provides a great opportunity to reflect. Despite facing a volatile economic climate in 2009, InteliCoat closed out the year with a rapid increase in sales - marking our strongest quarter of the year. This notable turnaround is due in large part to the continued support from our loyal customers, dealers and suppliers, as well as our dedicated staff who have worked tirelessly to help InteliCoat weather the storm. In addition to signifying that the industry is beginning to recover, the rapid economic turnaround is a testament to InteliCoat's clear focus on building upon our reputation as a strong player in the digital imaging market.

 

Despite the economy, we continued to forge ahead with new product development in order to offer our customers the broadest portfolio of digital imaging products available for the ink jet printing market. In 2009, several new products were added to the market-leading Magic®, Magiclée®, Museo® and JetSet® brands. Some of the highlights for the graphics channel included Magic® brand STICK 2TM for signage applications and Magic POS PRO+ 400TM for tradeshow graphic applications. The POSPRO line of products continues to flourish in popularity as it gained the Wide-Format Imaging Reader's Choice Award for the third consecutive year.

 

On the photo and fine art front, we were proud to launch the first complete, finished canvas solution - Magiclée Torino 17M Canvas with ClearShield® Type CTM gloss liquid laminate. Museo Fine Art, the preeminent brand of digital fine art media from InteliCoat, introduced Museo Textured Rag, 100% cotton textured rag paper and Museo 2GS, a 100% cotton 2 side printable smooth fine art paper. Some notable product recognitions included Museo brand Silver Rag and Magiclée brand Verona 250 HD were honored in the 14th Annual DIMA Digital Printer Shoot-Out Awards and Magiclée® Verona 300 RAG received the prestigious 2009 Hot One Award from Professional Photographer magazine.

 

As we begin the New Year, we remain committed to building upon our prior successes such as our enterprise-wide Lean Program, which has been recognized by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Congressman Richard Neal, and to taking advantage of the many new opportunities available. We expect to see exciting developments as leading OEM's roll out new products with Magic as the media of choice and are gearing up for a flurry of upcoming sales blitzes. These blitzes will allow the sales and marketing team to work face-to-face with our printer customers in an effort to support their business in tandem with our dealer partners. As we aggressively work to build our inventory back up in 2010, we expect double digit sales growth for InteliCoat, along with our valued customers and industry partners. We look forward to sharing this success and to continuing to maintain our reputation for producing digital imaging products that deliver the utmost in quality and value. We are committed to bringing the best and newest ideas to the marketplace in the coming year and for many more to come.
